Growing up in the 80's was a great time for toys!!! I am sure most people say that about their upbringing, but I believe that the 80's was one of the best! Of course I am bias, but why shouldn't I be? Our toys were so good, that they have brought the best ones back for our current children to play with. I have a list of 22 toys that are currently on the market now for my children, that children my age played with growing up. Of the 22 on the list, there are 10 of them that my children currently have, and a handful that they are obsessed with.
-Little Green Army Men
-Bubble Lawn Mower
-Poppers (little rubbery things you flatten out and they "pop" up in the air)
-Sticky Hands (long handle with sticky hand on the end that sticks to everything)
-Easy Bake Oven
-My Little Pony
-Etch A Sketch
My Children Have
-Power Wheels Vehicles
-Slip and Slides
-Star Wars (This includes the new series Star Wars Rebels)
-Mr. Potato Head
-Fisher Price Little People (my grandmother has all the originals)
-Transformers (My son is 24/7 Transformers: Rescue Bots)
I have a hard time playing with my children sometimes because I get in the "zone." When I am building Legos, fighting with Darth Vader, or saving the world with Optimus Prime, and my children reach over to grab something, I often find myself saying, "Those are my toys."
